For the year 2013/14, the Hospice needs £1.7m to continue to operate
its specialist services and maintain the standard of care –
this equates to around £4,650 per day. There is no
charge made to patients for any of these services. Although we do
receive a percentage of money from the Primary Care Trust, the Appeals
Office has to raise the lion's share each year. This would
not be possible without the dedicated support from fundraisers,
families and businesses.
There
are various ways in which you can support the Hospice; some of which
may require certain skills, whilst others may
not necessarily be physically demanding or take much time and effort.
Whatever your lifestyle, we feel sure there is some way, if you
wish, by which you could support the Hospice.
For example, a number of dedicated running enthusiasts take part in various events such as the London Marathon and the Great North Run and raise sponsorship money for the Hospice. Other supporters organise events such coffee mornings and raise money regularly through their local community. All efforts are equally appreciated.
